Restorations

Having an appealing smile is one thing that most of us wish to have. It can have a significant positive impact on your overall appearance. However, dental issues like teeth discoloration, cavities,  damaged teeth, worn out teeth, malocclusion, gum diseases, etc., can affect the aesthetics of the smile. Dental restorations are the best way to bring the teeth back to their ideal contour, aesthetics, and functionality. The main dental restorations that can help achieve a flawless smile include dental crowns, veneers, fillings, fillings, bridges, implants, inlays, onlays, composite bonding, etc. Unlike the old times where most of the dental restorations were made from metals, restorations are now made with tooth-colored restorations - either made from ceramic or composite resin.

What dental concerns can dental restorations improve?

Dental restoration methods help restore the structural integrity of the tooth damaged by some injury or oral disease. Restorative options allow dentists to address various teeth concerns, including damage, chips, severe fractures, tooth failure, or loss, to improve the smile's functional and aesthetic value.

Popular dental restorations

  • Crowns: Dental crowns are widely used to restore damaged, naturally misshapen, worn-out, weak teeth, or teeth with a large filling. Crowns completely cover the tooth and protect them against damage. Dental crowns can be placed in two visits to the dentist's practice.
  • Fillings: If your teeth have a cavity, they should be filled using dental fillings to restore the strength and functionality of decayed teeth. They are placed in the cavity; composite or ceramic fillings offer excellent sealing properties, making them perfect for filling cavities.
  • Bridges: If you have your teeth missing, dental bridges are used as a replacement. Unlike dental implants, bridges do not require surgery to be placed in position. A solid prosthetic tooth is placed by dental crowns on either side during the process, thus providing necessary strength and stability to the teeth.
  • Veneers: Veneers are wafer-thin ceramic restorations that can be bonded to the teeth' frontal surface and serve cosmetic purposes. Veneers help to restore teeth that are chipped, cracked, severely discolored, excessively spaced, or teeth need an aesthetic makeover.
  • Composite bonding: Composite bonding process is used to fill cavities and cracks on the teeth and reshape them. During the process, a composite resinous material is applied on the surface of the teeth, shaping it as needed and hardened it using a curing light. This restorative method is used to reshape the teeth and fill cracks or cavities on them.
  • Implants: Dental implants are one of the most preferred options to replace missing teeth. They are placed directly in the jawbone and are highly stable and durable. Dental implants benefit by enhancing your jawbone health and appear just like a natural tooth.
  • Orthodontic treatment: Improper growth of teeth, misshapen jawbone, faulty oral appliances, wider jawbone arch, etc., can lead to the misalignment of teeth. Orthodontic treatment helps align them properly, making the smile appear more pleasing.
