Your child chipped or broke your tooth. A chipped tooth is like getting a scratch on your brand new car. Your smile is a little less beautiful, but it’s nothing a dentist can’t fix. If your child has chipped a large part of your tooth and you’re in an awful a lot of pain, it’s a dental emergency.
You can come on the same day to get your tooth repaired. Whether you’re coming to us on the same day or coming in the next day, we need you to take the following steps:
There are four ways to fix a chipped tooth. They include filling or bonding, dental veneers, and dental cap or crown.
Filling or Bonding is performed if you have chipped a small part of your enamel. We will apply a filling to repair the damage. For a chipped front tooth, we’ll apply a tooth-colored composite resin called bonding.
Dental Veneers is for chipped or broken front teeth. We’ll apply a dental veneer, which is a tooth-colored composite resin or porcelain. We’ll customize the veneers to match your teeth’s natural color and will apply it over the surface of your chipped tooth using a special kind of cement.
Dental Cap or Crown is performed if you have lost a large part of your tooth, we’ll file away the remaining tooth. We’ll place a cap with a crown designed to preserve function, protect teeth, and enhance aesthetic appeal. For severe damage, you may develop an infection or pulp infection. In the case, we’ll remove the dying or dead pulp by performing a root canal and then cap it with a crown.
